Default C5 smart phone mounts - lets see them.

Here is mine. Pictures are crappy but the unit is really slick. I was so impressed with one I bought for my daily driver I got one for my C5 too. It can swivel and mount pretty much anywhere. My other cars I use the mount that goes on the vent. Cheap too! You can buy it here.

How is everyone else mounting their smart phones in their C5? Or are you all using the ever so useful cup holder for that job?

Interested in seeing the options. The 'ever so useful cup holder' worked fine for my previous Motorola flip-phone but my new Samsung Skyrocket is too big.

Mr Bill has a pretty cool holder but a tad pricey. It mounts where yours is. So my question is, how do you have it mounted? From your link I don't see how it mounts to your console like that. I have one similar to yours in my STS but it's mounted in the air vent because the other thing broke that mounts to the winshield.

So for now I use the travel buddy cup holder seeings how it's of no use for holding drinks.

Did you see the pictures under the link? It's just a basic suction cup design. The arm is really flexible for angles and such making it work pretty much whereever. You just have to stick the base to the side of the console and then use the suction cup. Everything is black so it blends in nicely.

yeah I saw it but not the suction part. I have the same one but my suction cup broke. (That doesn't sound good)

And you really shouldn't be running around sock footed. My momma never allowed that.

Which Alpine is that? And where can I get that backing plate for the HU?

Thanks

I just want to see if someone is attempting to contact me. I seldom ever make a call and seldom if ever answer it if I get one. But my wife had an accident a couple months back and she called me before 911. I don't want to miss those calls.

Don't need the phone but since my phone is my gps and music player I like to have it mounted. I don't currently have a mount I like.

I am a firm believer in ProClip, no association, just have used 5 of them now in different cars. They are a little expensive, but they have outlasted the car every time! I have had one that the screws came loose connecting the phone holder to the cradle, but a drop of lock tight and it’s been great for over a year. it's a small, sturdy, clean install.
Lousy picks, but I was using the phone:

From the driver’s view, tilts up and over to me, no stalks or anything, just clamps to the side of the bezel.

You can see how it clamps around the side. It has tape that holds behind the bezel, but I had a double din bezel coming from Double D so I did not use the tape; it still holds tight and no wobbling.

Another angle.

You buy the clamp for the car and then separately the cradle. You can change holders if you get a different phone.
WOW those pic's are worse than I thought...

No mount needed here. Phone stays in holster. Bluetooth does the work of streaming music to the Pioneer radio.

ProClip is a top notch unit, It installs clean, No holes to drill, I have one that I don't use any longer seeing I have a unit with BT.

Since I use my phone for GPS and pandora (not for texting or calling...) I would very much like to see a good mount. I have yet to figure out a good solution .

Hi Mr. Bill!
If you don't use it, I will buy it even though I have Bluetooth from Dennis. I'm sure I 'll get use out of it. Just PM me whatever you want with shipping, etc. You can even autograph it!!! It will be worth a fortune when you become VP.
Regards,
Jeff

Mr.Bill

Will the proclip mount higher? Will the clip hold next to the radio instead of the heat/air control?

Bluetooth equipped radio - no need for a holder.
