These tires, say from 0-12k are really superb in handling grip wet or dry, or cold. That's probably a function of the reason their width is nearly an inch less than summer UHP and MP tires.
From my experience they just don't wear well, and the Plus model didn't completely solve the issue. I decided to go back to the full width summer tire considering I live in FL.

But if I lived in a warm climate I would choose a different type of tire since I would not need an AS tread.

It's happened to me and I've always kept the pressure at 30 psi. I don't know why and it's happened on at least 2 sets.

To the many who have had this happen on their Michelin Pilot Sport AS Plus tires it would be interesting to know the aprox. miles on the tires when the rear center rib got down to the wear bars or beyond.
Mine were around 30-33k

On Michelin's website, the recommend tire pressure is 30 psi. That is what I run my at and is what is recommend by GM too.
Sorry to here that you have possible ruined your expensive tires.

Do you really run 58 PSI?
Look at the pressures recommended on the driver's door.
The sticker says you should run 30 PSI, both front and rear (cold temp)
At 58PSI it's no wonder they wear out the center, you've overinflated by roughly 2X..
