A 54 year old man from Northern Indiana was attempting to pass a line of cars Saturday afternoon when he crashed into a pickup that was turning left onto County Road 850N in Noble County.
The driver of the Corvette is in critical condition while the 16 year old driver of the pickup was uninjured.
The two vehicles ended up in a cornfield with the truck on top of the C5 Corvette.

I have almost been in the same situation.
I was passing a car that was going under the speed limit about 6 months ago. I look, no cars are coming, and I pull around. As I get along side the car, another white car pulls up to the road from a side road that I did not know was there. It pulls out without coming to a full stop (which I assume means he only looked to the left) and into the lane I am now driving in. I lay on the horn and FLOOR the gas (as by the time he was pulling out, the front of the car I am passing was even with my side door). The car gets in the ditch some, but no where near enough. I pull in front of the car I am passing just in time to swerve to the right to miss both cars. I have no idea if the other car slowed down or not, but I cut in front of him with what I think was about an few inches away from a collision....from both cars. I hope the guy learns to look both ways before pulling into a street.
Some people don't get that roads are dangerous and you need to look both ways before doing anything with them. I believe that is taught in kindergarden.

That's a GM on GM hate crime there. So is it safe to say that if it had been a vert, he would have died instantly?
What about a coupe with the top removed?
Wow.

The news showed the driver was 21 and his 54 year old dad was in critical condition but they also said it ended up catching on fire in a corn field too but where's the corn?

I am not one bit surprised the individuals in the truck went basically unscathed, however I am surprised the Vette driver is still alive!! Hope he recovers, but I am also curious as to what the ultimate side of the accident was.

Lucky he was'nt on a motorcycle or smart car or mini.
These cars are low and that can be dangerous but the speed and the dynamics of the car can get you out of trouble just as well ( If you know what your doing) Ive had a few close calls and they werent my fault as all I can say.
