Default Remote clutch bleeder

I have been doing the Ranger method of sucking out dirty clutch fluid, wiping with a clean blue shop towel, refill, pump pump pump, repeat, etc.

It does help some with my shifting, but I drove another Corvette (ok it was a C6 Z06) and it shifted so much nicer.

My clutch fluid was dirty for years before reading about the Ranger way on here, I'm thinking a bleeding may get more crap out since the car has 82K miles.

How hard is it to install the remote bleeder, seems I read on here someone said if you take the intake off, for such a reason to replace the oil pressure sender, you could also reach down to install the remote bleeder, did I read that right?

I have been reading that you have to take part of the exhaust out, then that metal plate with all the bolts.

Can one get to the clutch bleeder from the top if the intake is removed?

If the exhaust has to come out, and that metal plate, any ideas how many hours a professional (someone who often works on Corvettes) shop would charge for labor to do it?

Last time I changed my mufflers (one of the welds at the flange broke) and I bought some used OEM C5 mufflers, doing it on the garage floor, using a floor jack with thick phone books to get the height needed to slip the exhaust in and out was SCARY and really made my back and shoulder blades sore for days!

Not to get off topic, but I just found out there is a place in Scottsdale, AZ (close enough for me) that rents repair bays with car lifts for $20.00 an hour, hopefully their lift would fit a C5 Corvette ok, anyways this seems it would make the job much much easier than laying on the floor!

1999corvettels1,
Take your car to a qualified shop that has done many c5 Corvette clutch replacements.
Have them bleed the clutch hydraulics, right at the bleeder valve,
(located at the top of the bell/torque tube area.)

At the same time, see if they would install a remote bleeder for you.

You should be able to notice the condition of the fluid, (for the better) directly after the proper bleed.

That would be cool, I wonder if it would cost 500 bucks to have a shop bleed it since I read part of the exhaust has to come out, then the tunnel close out plate?

GM should have built a little access door to get to the clutch bleeder VS having to tear a bunch of stuff out to get to it!

Cost will probably be around half of the price you posted.

1999corvetels1,
Here is a write up on installing the remote bleeder, without dropping the drive line.

It can be done.
