Let my grandson use corvette last night now code B0516 H. Speed over 200mph. Must have been breezy with top down. 😀

Is it a manual trans? I think I read somewhere this can be from an over rev situation.

I have a Top Down Window Valet. I reset before he left. He never got over 58 mph. It won’t tell me how quick he got there 😀

Could be a hiccup from the speed sensor at the rear of the car. I'd clear it and ignore unless it comes up more frequently or you start noticing issues with the speed readout..
My speed sensor, when it failed (261,000 miles, mind you) would do all sorts of interesting things with the gauges. Like for example, the speedometer wouldn't even move at all until the car was going about 40mph. Then it was dead nuts accurate (according to my GPS, anyway). And when you slowed down, it would jump erratically once it got below 40 (think like, 45, 40, 35, 65, 22, 12, 45 again for some reason, then finally read zero while decelerating - it was fun to watch the needle dance around). These readings (or lack thereof in low speed driving) were the same on the cluster and the HUD.
Glad it made it home in one piece.

Unless your C5 is HEAVILY modified, it didn't hit 200 mph. Stock top speed is around 174 mph and to get that last 26 mph takes a lot more horsepower.
Nice of you to let your grandson drive your Corvette. Me, I won't even let my daughter drive mine.

My 21 year old grandson now looks after my C5. He is an ASE certified mechanic and works for a shop that services high end imports, and supports race cars. I figure as he regularly does test runs in high end German iron, specially Porsches, he will be fine in a comparatively tame C5.
