Default new member in Iowa with a Problem

Hello - I'm a C5 owner having a problem with a sunvisor. Mirror has started to become detached. Can't figure out how to reattach. Any suggestions?

welcome! whereabouts in Iowa are you?

the sunvisors in the vette are kind of crappy, you may have no choice but to cut the seam out so you can get inside it, and either glue or use some 3m double sided tape to secure it.

or I don't know if it would be possible to use a syringe through the fabric and behind the mirror to inject some glue back there?

Welcome to the forum - and the link above is a good one for fixing your mirror. And if you're that close to Dennis at Double D Mods, take the drive up and visit his operation. One of the best vendors on the forum.

Damn my memory
Were you the guy I talked to who had the Lambo doors? I still have your business card somewhere.

I took a few pictures of your car at that show also, I was parked next to Dennis.

I've really been wanting to setup a cruise to see the Double D shop, its only a couple of hours from here and depending on the route there is some really nice scenery between here and there. looks like it will have to wait until spring though, who all would be interested?

I'm in the Iowa City area, and I have 2 other C5 buddies near by who I go cruising with in the spring, summer, and fall.

A must do!
I gotta teach the girl friend how to drive a 6-speed (God help me ) so I can bring both C5s on the trip. I've driven the trip between Cedar Rapids and Dubuque so much I could do it blindfolded. I would suggest a longer but more scenic route. Start with 151 to 64 which will take us to the Mississippi. Traveling up along the river on 52 to Dubuque is not only scenic but a fun drive as it has lots of twists and hills. South of Bellevue there is a state park with an awesome view

On the north side of Bellevue there is a great restaurant with a HUGE parking lot that would be perfect for group car pictures. I'd be open to any and all ideas.

Maybe I should put together a Vette car show in DBQ area this summer

That's actually exactly the route I was thinking. my c5 knows it well. Been on it several times. I love the view from that overlook. 52 south of Bellevue is my favorite part.

What do you think Dennis? Open House at DD sometime in the spring? Maybe once the weather warms up but before it gets too hot.
