Can I toe a boat with a Vette?

Sorry, I had to put something interesting and unique as a title. I was just thinking about something. I know my 2002 Corvette with heads and cam put down 440 ft-lbs of torque, has 300 ft-lbs of torque solid basically from 1500 rpms up. It is build on a body on frame in which the frame is probably more rigid than some pickup trucks, and it weights 3200 lbs. Why could you not technically pull some heavy freight with a corvette with a trailer with electronic brakes? Does it have to do with wheel base?
I'm just wanting someone to flame me first, cause I know that will happen, but then enlighten me to the physics without calling me a dumbass, lol.

I have a C5 trailer hitch for sale
It was taken off my 98 that pulled a trailer that carried 4 track tires and quite a few tools.

Not something I think I would ever do with my Corvette, but I have seen owners towing jet skis, smaller trailers for carrying extra tires/track supplies, etc.

Though it is not politically correct or keeping up with the Jones, it is probably safe to say a corvette would have no problem pulling a 200 horsepower fiberglass bass boat. (Conventional wisdom requires you pull your bass boat with a new crew cab loaded truck, because the idea isn't about fishing as much as it is about showing your *** off and the boat and the new truck is a display of your success, or your exorbinant debt up to your neck)
And no, i'm not wanting to pull a bass boat. If anything I may pull a 49x49 200 lbs utility trailer with tires and tools if I ever get to bring my car to a track session. Not even 1000 lbs, which isn't much at all...

Big thing to remember is your sight is very limited sitting down that low. Don't play around when your pulling it and pay attention to everything . You can move the boat forward and backwards a few inchs with the wench poll and get the weigh where you want it on the hitch.
Have to admit its going to look different but it can be done.
Getting it up out the water at the ramps might be interesting. You know how those can be and the vette is light anyway. We can't stand on your back bumper and jump up and down helping with this issue. LOL

Towing
Cody,
I understand your desire to tow. However...this is from Page 4-38 of my 2004 Chevrolet Corvette Owners Manual:
Towing a Trailer
"Your Corvette is neither designed nor intended to tow a trailer."
As previously mentioned, the most significant issue is finding an attachment point (for the hitch) on the vehicle strong enough to withstand the forces that towing places on a vehicle.
Also, straight line, steady speed towing is generally when the stresses are lowest. However if you happen to "drop" a trailer wheel into a soft shoulder or ditch, stresses can increase rapidly. Just another factor to consider.
Take care,
Wayne

Yes- it can tow a 2000 lb boat provided you had the tongue weight properly balanced . . dubious whether you could back it far enough into the water to launch or recover a boat without submerging important stuff . . traction notwithstanding.
Be interesting to try . . . once.

Good answer, maybe he'll get back with us on those legitimate concerns you've listed.
