Default Shakedown run with codes / minor issues to fix

Finally put a few hundred miles on the car since buying it. It runs good but I have a list of issues to correct.

I knew something was up with what I belived to be the yaw rate sensor needing replaced and the wheels not having TPS installed. The traction light has been on so today I pulled the codes:

Codes
• C1277 Requested Torque Signal CKT Malfunction
• C1286 Steering Sensor Bias Malfunction
• C1287 Steering Sensor Rate Malfunction

My tires are 235/35/18 front and 275/30/19 rear. Would they cause these codes?

C1288 Didn't locate this one

• B0432 Rear Defogger Relay Circuit
• U1040 Loss of Communications with TCS

These are fron not having TPS sensors
• C2100 Left Front TPM Sensor Malfunction
• C2105 Right Front TPM Sensor Malfunction
• C2110 Right Rear TPM Sensor Malfunction
• C2115 Left Rear TPM Sensor Malfunction
• U1000 Loss of Communication Undetermined
• U1064 Loss of Communication with BCM

I also need to fix the headlights. Previous owner installed Xenon HIDs. The only want to have them go down in to turn the brights on, then off. Each time I start the car, they open a inch each time. I can turn on and off and they will stay closed.

When turning the lights off, I have a gear grinding. I read here that they strip easily and a vendor offers brass gears. Sound like the correct fix?

I have to remove the windshield cowl to find the washer lines. They aren't connected and must of fallen below the cowl when PO installed a carbon fiber cowl.

These are the issues I've noticed. Any suggestions for a fix are appreciated. Otherwise the car is solid.

C1288 is the SPS (steering position sensor). More than likely this is causing the yaw codes to trip. I replaced my SPS last year at about 80K and it fixed a lot of related codes.

I'm assuming the steering wheel needs to be removed. How long did the swap take? I'm removing the dash next month to install a HUD anyways so I will do it then. Any write ups on this?

Would that also throw the service traction control warning?

Here are instructions on how to replace the steering position sensor:
http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c5-t...on-sensor.html

Lots of members have added tips and tricks since I posted how I did it, so read through beyond my original posts. If you have a telescoping column (which I do not) it's supposed to be a lot harder as that column is larger and more difficult to get out. Otherwise, it's fairly straight forward.

I found that thread yesterday and it's full of great information. I don't have the telescoping column so it shouldn't be too bad. I'm gonna knock this out when I install my HUD next month.

Appreciate the link.

Today I did se additional trouble shooting. While parked and also driving, I cleared the TCM codes. The TCS light stayed off until I turned the steering wheel. Same results parked or moving. I feel confident that the SPS needs to be replaced.
