Default First time buying!

Hello! I am going to pick up a 2001 Z06 saturday, (MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ME) anyways... Anything I need to take an extra look at or see about the car? Do the 01 Z06’s have a lot of known problems? Any advice will be greatly appreciated!

Get with a local Corvette club and go to a meeting. There will no doubt be a lot of guys who can answer your questions and give advice. Hell, some one may know the car! Rod

Some of the 2001 Z06's did have a bit of a oil cosumption problem.
That is the only real problem I've ever heard about that particualr model.
Do a search here on the forum about oil consumption.

PM me your e-mail address and I can send you a bunch of Word files about the C5 and what to look for, including a Corvette Buyers Checklist. And good luck with the car.

The only thing that I ever heard about on 01 ZO6's was an oil consumption issue.

Congrats and welcome to the Forum
I loved my '01 6 speed, even if it wasn't a Z06

like others have said, oil burning is the only issue and a lot of times it wasn't really that bad. a quart every 2 or 3k miles

redline seems to be the most burn resistant of the oils i've tried in low tension engines

mobil 1 high mileage is another good anti burn oil if you go low cost

Drive it like you own it and be safe. Personalized plate would be nice too.
