Recently I posted a thread regarding hard steering and a popping noise when turning my wheel when leaving a parking spot. It appears that others have this problem but no one has a definitive solution.

I am going for an alignment and to be sure that it is done properly, I looked up the spec's. The link above should be helpful for this purpose. It applies to my 2003 Z06 and other 03 models.

If you take the car for another alignment, ask them for a report showing the before and after specs of the car. I'll almost bet you the specs it is at now are wrong. Front toe is WAY off (too much). Caster is probably also too high (going positive).

I took mine to a tire place last year to have it aligned. They gave me a sheet with all the specs on it, but the car didn't handle like it should. I took it back a second time and it was better, but not great. This past summer I took it to a local shop that road races Corvettes and had them do an alignment. What a difference! For the first time in several years my car is now a pleasure to drive.

I run a setup based on some pFadt information for better turning more responsive street setup that wont do to bad on the track or Auto-X on my '04Z

Caster 7.5 degrees on both sides (C6 can take a bit more, C5 will smoke the PS pump and rack with 8 degrees or more)

Front Camber -1.3 to -1.6 on each side

Rear camber 0.2 degree less negative camber than the front (ie. if the front is -1.5 then set the rears at -1.3 degrees

Toe: in 0.05 degrees for each side front and rear

Think I went for the lower end of the settings.

Even that is tons less than I run on my DD '95 M3 (-2.6F/-1.5R) and tire wear is fantastic. Its bad Toe that kills tires anyways..

What settings would be best if we are running the C6 Z51 swaybars and shocks on a FE1 Coupe? Majority of the driving will be on the streets.

Makes no difference. The desired wheel attitude will be determined by how you want the car to feel, not by how it is held up off the ground, or how little it rolls. At extremes, those might be things to consider, but these cars don't move nearly enough for a slight difference to mean anything.

I noted that these are for the 2003 model. I would assume that other C5's are close or the same.
