Default So, Is the C5 Now the "New C4"?!

With the C7 reveal complete, will the C5 now become the new C4 in terms of aftermarket parts, services, etc.?

It appears the earlier Jalopnik "leak" was dead on and the new C7 has really moved the ball forward for GM. Only time will tell whether the new aggressive design will prove successful.

I think the C7 took a greater step forward from the previous generation than the C6 did from the C5, often to the point where I referred to the C6 as the "C5.5".

Any C5 owners running out to the dealerships this week to get on the C7 buy list?!

I plan to keep my C5 vert, however I am more excited about the C7 than I was when the C6 made its debut. Definitely would like to add a C7 Z06 to the stable someday...

Don't know about the C5 becoming the new C4, but IMO the C5 has a classic design that will be popular for many years to come. As for running out to the dealer and ordering a C7 - would do it if I had the money, but would want to keep my C5 also.

I don't want to know how expensive that new C7 will be. I got a pretty good interest rate on my car, so I won't be upside down any day soon. I think they'll remain the best bang for the buck. Not everyone will run out and mod it on day 1 either, so I think we're safe for now.

Ifeel the same as you. I love my C-5 but wouldn't mind having the C-7

C5 is a great car and the tuning ability will keep shops interested and aftermaket parts will plentiful.

C7 looks narrow to me and the tail lights are pretty bad!

I'm just waiting for the C6Z prices to drop some more now!

IMO the C5's are still the most beautiful Corvettes. I like the C7, but I would never get rid of my C5. C5's can hold their own with any Corvette.

My C5 is paid off, I'm the original owner, it has 19K on the odo & I have over 10K in mods, so I will NOT trade in or sell my C5 for a C7. However, in a couple of years it would be a great addition to the stable...

No! Never!

The C5 is NOT a dated body style like the C4's body style!

The C5 has timeless body lines and structure!

Thanks,Matt

Needless to say the C7's interior front section reminds me of the same style of the C4's!!!! but more newer in design of course!

Need to see more pictures though!

Thanks,Matt

I was in a Chevy dealership the day the C4 was released and from the side lines I watched buyers pay big dealer markups. When the hype was over, they got their cross fire throttle body V8. I waited a year and got tuned port injection and what I believed was a better vehicle. I don't think the hype is worth paying for. I have owned more than on of GM's experiments that went bad (like my 1984 Fiero). I'll keep my C5 a while longer and wait to see if the C7 is any good.

Am I the only one here who isn't thrilled with the looks of the C7?

The C5 set the standard for all Vettes that follow. Sure there were Awesome Vettes prior but the C5 all around set the bar therefore in my mind it will remain timeless in design and function!
