No more "Run Flats" for me
I recently purchased a low mileage 02 Vert (my 7th Corvette) with the original Goodyear "Run Flats". The tires were showing ware, very harsh ride and very noisy so I purchased a new set of Michelin Pilot Sport A/S plus ZP (Run Flats). Improved all of the above, but I'm still not happy with the ride and noise as the wife & I are getting older now (62) and enjoying comfort & quite more and more. I'm going to stock up on Green Slime and a portable 12V air compressor and put a set of non run flats on the car. Anyone local interested in the practically new Michelins "run flats", I'll take $700.00 for the set of 4. They have approx 1000 miles on them. Like brand new! I'm in Eastern NC.

Might buy some spare TPMS sensors - once they are slimed, they are toast.

Just get the air compressor and a plug kit - that should do the job until you can get a flat tire plugged and patched. If you want the Slime product, I would only use it as a last resort - as mentioned it will mess up the TPS.
Heck of a price on the Michelins - you might want to post them for sale in the C5 Parts for Sale section.

Yep, I just turn up the XM and the tires don't sound so loud.

I run the Pilot Sport A/S non run flats
and love them. Quiet and smooth for a Vette. Balance with little to no weight! I too, could not stand the OEM run flats. I carry a small compressor and plug kit, but for $12, or $6 a year, ( can't remember, as I insure both cars) I have USAA road service.

I haven't had a flat in over 30 years. Either its time, or uncommon. No run flats, no repair kits. But I do have several roadside assistance plans

At 53, I can't see the thought of me on my knees on the side of the road with a can of goop and an air compressor. I'd rather keep my knee cartilage and my pants and hands clean and just drive to get the Michelin R/F patched.
But, to each his own. When I want a quiet, smooth ride, I'll drive the wife's Caddy CTS.

I've got the Michelin Pilot run flats and really like them. I don't hear the tires above the engine noise so I'm curious as to why yours are so noisy.

Great price for someone! I've had my Michelin (Z/P's) since June. Love 'em.
Personally, I'm trying to picture myself on the side of a highway, or on some desert road in Arizona, squirming around in the rocks in 100+ degree temps, trying to get under an already low car, attempting to find a hole to plug so I can be on my way. Actually, I can't imagine it in any location or weather condition! My insurance offers free towing and the ride on my Michelin ZP's is just fine.
