TPMS warm up??

TPMS warm up??
I just replaced my stock TPMS with aftermarkets. When i first get in the car and start it there is no reading, takes about a mile to get all four tires reading on the DIC. I don't recall if the stock ones were like this or not? Just curious really. Do your TPMS values show soon as you start or is there a warm up on the OEM as well???

The car has to be moving before the TPS will update readings. As long as your DIC shows the correct pressure, there s nothing wrong with your car.
My car will show a pressure reading when I first start it up, but it is from the last time I drove the car.

When my left front sensor stopped working I programmed a wheel from my other car for the left front so I could go through the programming and set the other three sensors.
It surprised me a few times because when I would start it in the garage it shows readings for all four sensors. I believe it picked up the other car's sensor when I came back and parked that car next to it. After a few miles, the left front would show that it was missing again when it was away from the other car. So it has to be the last reading that it received (even if the car is turned off).

I have OEM sensors and they read immediately.

Hmmmmmm.........
I just put new tires and new TPMS sensors on my 2000 C5. I understand that the sensors utilize a centrifugal switch which is used to prevent battery drain when not being driven and that the Magnet used to program the location of each tire does so by closing the centrifugal switch. My car has to reach about 15 mph in order to close the centrifugal switch and begin transmitting to the dash readout. When I start the car my tire pressure readings are blank. I know that the 2001 and later years use a different sensor, but they must still be able to "disconnect" the sensor battery when the car is parked or the sensor battery would discharge in less than six months. I have to believe that any readings before start-up or prior to 15 mph are from the dash memory.
