Default Is it time for a rack and pinion?

Well I noticed that the rack is leaking right where the steering shaft goes into it. It's not leaking much but definitely is leaking. so should I go with a rack from zip corvette and install a bump steer kit while I'm working on it? Also was thinking of getting that metal piece that will replace the rubber bushing where the rack mounts to the car. Any thoughts on this? I noticed that the steering has alot of play in it and it clicks when moving the steering wheel back and forth.

You might want to look at having Turn One Steering rebuild your rack.

Is there a difference between a standard corvette rack and a zo6 rack?

Coupe and Vert racks are the same as the Z06. Turn One does high performance rebuilds for cars that are tracked. I have used their products and recommend them - top quality. I do not know who rebuilds the racks for Zip --- There are no new units available.

So I think turn one is it then. Plus you only have to pay for shipping/rebuild and no core charge!

Like CHJ in Virginia said, they are high quality rebuilds and no one ever has a problem with their work.
