Default 800 miles 1 1/2 tanks of gas averages 30.1 mpg & 76.8 mph

Well it was a nice ride. Sunny but cool and the vette handled great. Avg speed was 76.8 and avg mpg was 30.1 not bad. Most of the time I was avg about 81 mph and 27 mpg's on 93 octane. I had fun reving it up to 4500 on shifts getting back onto the main hwy. Mayb went a little faster on those times. It was a fun 800 miles.

Glad to hear it, that's awesome. Although you're just making it more difficult for me because I still have about 6" of salt/sand caked on all the roads around here so I can't/won't drive my vette, lol. I'm having withdrawls. Glad you had fun though, it still amazes me how great our MPG's can be when we're just cruising, considering the beast our car can be when needed, it's almost like a 'perfect world' situation lol.

Glad to hear you decided to stick with the 93 octane...

80 mpg between 1600 & 1800 rpms. I was amazed too 30 mpg's. My engine temp never left 194* and I had 36lbs of air in all four tires. Already planning the next road trip.

I'm a little embarrassed I'm not sure. I have a stock 2000 coupe. I swapped the stock intake w/a 04 intake then added LT Hooks headers, Hooks X-pipe into Ti Zo6 exhaust and a CAI w/a K&N air filter plus a ESC tune. To make it handle better I swapped out the stock suspension for C6 Zo6 shocks, and sway bar's. Then C5 Zo6 wheels and Toyo high performance tires in Zo6 size.

It should be a 3.42 ratio if it is a 6 speed. The rpms roughly match my 6 speed cars.

That is a nice trip. Like Vetteman Jack said these are nice economy cars. They make great road trip cars.

The mods sound good. My '99 is set up pretty close to yours except I just got the C6 sways and don't have them on yet. I get good mileage on the highway too.

These periodic reports should always state whether E10 was involved or not.

That's why the EPA rates the hiway mpg way higher than city mpg; the faster you go, the better your mileage.

Yep,,these cars are great! Can't think of any other car that can match the versatility of these cars. Econo car mileage when you want it,,an low 13's when you want to romp on it.
the only car we have that can beat the mileage is our 13 Passat TDI,,but it would be at about 1/2 track when I went through the traps in my FRC!! The Passat is a lot quicker than you would think, gets over 40 mpg on the highway,,but it's no vette. My FRC fun factor is off the chart in comparison!!
