The only idea I don’t like is you must pay full payment up front to order the wheels. Just like ordering custom interior parts they mostly want half down. But if I buy another set it would not be the first time I would have to dispute a charge card for not being happy and getting my parts.
I really like CCW wheels especially the SP version's due to the smooth transition from the spokes to the lip, makes polishing & cleaning really easy, no bolts to deal with. As far as ordering another set know knowing of some of the bloopers that were created, I am not saying no, but I would need to check/ask more detailed questions pertaining to the machining aspect. Who would of thought that removing an extra .050 of material would create an issue where the wheel would not fit due to the height of the bearing hub, both sets, that was a shocker. I would of thought they had more room in their forging, my 19's had plenty of clearance, and they were supposed to use the same specs as the 19's, and I had to send them pictures to tell them how much material needed to be removed from the front hub area for clearance. It sure was a long wait to get all this done.

Thanks Steve,
im definitely leaning towards getting another set. I had SP500. But I want to change it up. Not sure yet which ones I will go with. They are definitely nice wheels. My set I sold were flawless. I just think that deep dish wheel really looks good on the C5 also you car looks awesome. Lowering my car is on my list.

I’m throwing this out maybe someone has done this to there CCW’s. If someone has a cheap powder coat job done on a set of CCW wheels and you want to have that removed does anyone have or seen what the finish would look like on the bare aluminum. Or is that going to depending what it looked like before the powder coat was put on them. Checking with someone to see how much work is involved with as far as scratches or anything. Looking to see if someone has gone thru this. Any help thanks. Don.

I just had mine powder coated, and to get the powder to adhere they had to be etched/sanded pretty good.
I did not see that part of the work so not sure how "deep" those scratches were but they are not visible now.
Just as an fyi, mine were chrome powder coated first 1-2 coats, then the candy blue (ZR1 blue) 2-3 coats then 2-3 coats of clear.

I'm sure the bare aluminum could be fine sanded to remove any scratches after the old OC was removed, depending on depth of course.

Thanks

For love of the hobby I don't mind the extra effort to keep them in pristine condition, I have a monthly cleaning process that involves removal to clean & a polish if needed.

Default Ccw classics

I got my first set of ccw classics in July. I'm running an 18x11 with 315/30 rt615k square set up for autox. They only see the road to and from the track, so I don't really have any glamor shots. They're light too!! 3 lbs heavier up front and just under 2 lbs lighter out back

Thanks, and with all the time & effort you spent on your SP's you would know that it's nice knowing if you get any damage it is repairable if you put in the time, does the Ceramic help when it comes to keeping them clean?

I honestly can’t say if the ceramic coating helps since I don’t have a frame of reference. I installed the wheels only a couple months ago after I retired, so I don’t daily drive it anymore and when I do drive it I’m more picky about when I take it out (Oh no, I’m becoming a waxer!). I spend 10-15 minutes after every outing wiping the wheels down and so far they continue to sparkle. With the thorough wheel maintenance routine you follow, I don’t think ceramic coating is necessary.

I love your wheels 6speedsteve. I walked around Carlisle both Fri and Sat last week and only recall seeing three C5s with CCWs. I was hoping to see your SP20a's in person. Keep up the good work

I know we had a conversation when you were polishing your wheels. Not sure what class you were in, but any awards?
