Default What's the best wing for Gran Turismo Driving on the street

Just want to mention I'm going to be driving fast, and need some downforce for cloverleafs. I realize that I can't add all sorts of foils to the car, that's not the goal. The goal is "Street Worthy Race Car" which of course is greater than Tuner Car for us who like to run numbers. I'm looking for something that is along the lines of awesome, not that you may see in the game, rather classy, that you might drive at the track.

There's always the C5R Wing.

...and then there's this.

That's what you call downfarce. 'Bout 100 lbs, give or take.

OP; I don't think aero should come into play on cloverleafs

That may be the case, but think about the benefits of multiple wings for the OP's stated use of "Grand Turismo" driving.

Adding only a wing will give you increased rear downforce and less front downforce. It will cause the front of the car to lift as you increase your speed and make it more difficult to drive at higher speeds. This is why you see in road racing when a wing is added, you also add a front splitter to balance the added aero. But for a C5, that's not all that you would need. You would also need an undertray to close off the underside of the car so that you force the air over the top of the car and through an opening to cool the radiator, oil coolers, etc. Since C5's are bottom breathing cars (air goes under the front bumper and up to the radiator) this is why adding aero isn't just adding parts and make it happen. Also, a splitter for street driving is not very desirable. You risk tearing it up on speed bumps, curbings, driveways, etc.

You would be better off upgrading your shocks and springs for what you described is your goal as you would still retain driveability on the street and still gain good performance for the dollar. Lots of good shock and spring combos available for C5's.

Honestly man...are you a crazy person? Can I see some pics of your former rides please?

Most aero becomes active, to some small extent at 60mph+. Aero is going to be better for more high speed, versus low speed stuff like a cloverleaf. There, suspension, tires and driving ability are more important.

As far as "Grand Turismo Driving on the Street".......what's that supposed to mean!? Guys with your banter are the ones that made me get out of imports. Givin us gamers and import guys that did it right a bad wrap.
