Default Does this matter?

Can anybody tell me if this is needed. It's a plastic screw that is in the center hole of the power steering pump. It just pushes in and eventually works its way back out. everytime i open the hood I just push it back in. It looks threaded but just moves freely back and forth. Thanks for any help you can give me.[/IMG]

Not sure, But it may have been for some kind of dust cover, I don't recall one on mine.

Mine did the same thing. Eventually it just flew out sometime last year I guess, cause it's not there anymore and nothing bad has happened since.

I tossed mine in the trash when I installed an LS2 pulley. All it really does is keep dirt out of the threads that the pulley install tool threads into.
