Default Trading wheels from 2001 to a 1999

Good morning everyone,
Looking for a little advice and i have 3 questions.
I own a 1999 corvette with the original aluminum wheels. I was thinking of purchasing the highly polished wheels from a 2001.
My questions are:

1. Can i swap the wheels without any modifications?
2. What do i have to do as far as the tire pressure warning system is concerned?
3.What is a fair price to pay for 2001 original highly polished wheels that have been on a car with 35k miles?
Any help is appreciated.
Thank you!!!!!!

If these are OEM 2001 wheels then no mods are required. The TPS from a 2001 won't work with your 99 but you can use the ones on your current wheels. Are you sure these are chrome and not polished? I don't believe there were chrome wheels from the factory though I have heard of a trade in deal where they chromed the OEM polished wheels. If they are aftermarket then make sure the offsets are correct for a C5.

GM ,did not makes any chrome wheels for a C-5. It'd likely you're looking at highly polished factory wheels, The TPMS transmitters are not compatible, you'll need to use the ones out of your old wheels or do an upgrade that one of our vendors sells. (GM parts Warehouse/Gene,, I think)

The 2001 wheels will bolt right on, no mods needed. You will need to put your 99 sensors in the wheels for the TPMS to work - the '01-04 sensors are different and will not work with your system.

A fair price to pay, if the wheels are in mint condition, would be $400 or so, perhaps a bit more IMO.

If your going to swap your TPS sensors, you'd do your self a favor and get a set of rebilt or new ones. There's no sense putting old parts in new wheels. What if you go through all the work of have the swap done and you get in and start it up and the damn thing is telling you you've got a flat ? Just my $0.02

No mods to do at all. I had a 99 vette & bought the 00-04 polished wheels for it, all you need to do is transfer your sensors to the new rims.
Heres what it looked like:

Same here, I bought the polished thin spokes and swapped over the tires and tpms sensors from my wagon wheels to the thin spokes on my 98. I had discount tire do it for me. I had to buy " rebuild kits" for $13 a wheel that included new rubber o rings and they told me up front that they may damage slightly the old wagon wheels getting them out and asked my permission before doing so. Very minor scratching around the valve hole was done but I didn't care much about the old wagons.

Hers the after...

I did that swap on both my '99's. I just swapped the old TPMS sensors into the new wheels. There is no reason that taking off the old ones will damage the wheels (other than under the nut where the nut contacts the wheel and that should not be visible with a new valve stem).

The rebuild kits for $13 like Tyler_RN_EMT said are a rip off. They are just a new nut, an oring and a valve stem core. The nut and valve core can be reused with no problems and the oring can be picked up for a couple dollars for a bag of them at home depot. There are also rebuild kits from places like Rock Auto. I got a closeout set for $1.15 per wheel.

I also had a set of the sensors die. I am swapping that car over to the new sensors (01-04 style). New sensors are less expensive for the new style than the old, but you need to swap to the new receiver also.
