Will you drive a Vette til you kick the bucket?
After detailing my car the other day, I thought I can never get rid of it...which begs the question, 'when are you too old or too uninterested to own/drive one of these things'?

Hopefully I never get too old or lose interest in owning a Vette. I've had one for all but a couple of years since I was 31, which makes it for 27 years and I still enjoy the heck out of them. Looking forward someday to getting a C7.

It took me too long to get mine to think about not having one!
I will admit, getting in and out has me looking at dropping a few pounds.

Well I have another 50 years left in me!!!! I have wanted one of these things since I was 5 years old and saw the Sledgehammer demolish everything in sight. Now at 31 I got what really is my dream car, a C5 (turned down a C6 for it.) I plan on keeping this thing as long as I possibly can. I live in Cali too so no rust worries or anything. Shes a 99 with 38K on it so I hope I can keep her a long long time.

My 88 year old father still has his 66 coupe. He has completely re-modded the car four times since 1976. It was a manual big block from the factory. It now has a Holly injected 383 small block and a 700r4. That will be the way it stays. He drives it nearly everyday and has no plans of ever giving it up.
I plan on doing my best to live up to his example.

I go through cars like water on a hot day. I'm only 22 and have had 9 cars so far LOL. To me the fun part is modding and once you complete your "vision" and get bored of it, Move onto the next one. Who knows what will be on the road when im old. Corvette might not even be around anymore.

My plan is to make this my last car. At 58 that's a ways to go but I would rather put money into a new engine and whatever else is needed than buying a new piece of white bread. Now with one knee replacement already and a tendency toward arthritis, there may come a day when I have to rethink my position.

I've owned mine for 12 years and plan on keeping it until the day I die. I've got too much money invested in it to think about selling it or trading it in. If something happens to me, #1 son will get it.

Friends have said that I'll be buried in one.
After driving them since 1965, I don't think I'll ever give them up.

What are you talking about? I'm making plans to be buried in mine. I'll still be driving it long after I'm dead and gone. Who cares what the kids want.

I have the 3 vehicles I have always wanted. 97 Dodge Ram, 99 STS (would rather have a ETC but it's close enough), and my 99 FRC. I could rebuild them all for less than one new car would cost me.
As long as I can get in and out of it I'll keep my FRC and hopefully add a C6 in a few years.
