Jack, I'm not into custom paint, but that's really nicely done. Great looking car.

I have modified it to my tastes.

I honestly enjoy it MORE NOW than the day I bought it new.
Its a great STRESS relief, and hobby on weekends for me.

Its worth a lot to me.

After all these years still one of my all-time favorites. Stunning!

Default A lot more to me also

I posted a thread that was inspired by this thread, just to get an idea about similar feelings from other members about their car. Not meant to hijack this thread.

I agree. I was looking for a long time trying to find one of those "smoking deals" that some on the forum say is the normal price point for a C5 these days. All I can say is there are super deals out there on high mileage, ratty C5's but the low mileage, pristine cars are holding their own. At least they are in my neck of the woods.

I just look at the performance to cost ratio. If I were to look for a car that looks this good, or performs this well new, I'd spend $60k. Instead I bought a 99, plus an 04 and spent less than $45k including upgrades.

The 99 just turned over 80k miles, the 04 just passed 31k. Considering the C5 cost vs new Vette $$, it's kind of hard to beat.

...happens all the time, last week in the parking lot of HomeLand a nice looking lady says "Nice car, is it new?" Must be worth something for the average non-car babe to like it!

i think a lot of the new comments come from how much some of you guys baby your cars and rarely drive them

the average 2002 corvette on the forum is probably 40-50k miles

the average 2002 car is about 140k miles

a "driver grade" 2002 corvette here on the forum is 70-90k miles

cars here are considered high mileage if they go over 100k. high mileage regular cars are typically over 200-250k

when you look at the average 2002 car and the average 2002 corvette there's a reason they look new. they are driven half as much

Talking about Atlanta. You are not going to buy a low mileage Z06 in Atlanta in excellent shape for under 24K. Nada says cars like mine are worth basically NOTHING.

I understand that in some parts of the country, a low mileage 02-04 Z06 can be found for under 20K. But any 02-04 in excellent condition with under 30K miles will sit on the lot after you offer 20K or less with a totally clean car fax in the Atlanta area on average.

For me my 04 CE is priceless - bought it in 2011 with 13k miles - now have 38k on it and love it even more now then when I bought it - just a fantastic car !!!

Here's a pic from the Corvette Plant last June

Here's the post by the Original owner who i purchased the car from - paid $22k flew out to Los Angeles and drove it back to NH - took 2 weeks getting home and had a blast !! http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c5-c...-22-000-a.html
