The author of that R&T article isn't that well informed. There never was a stock 350 horse LS1 1999 C5 FRC!
And the author misspelled the first name of the owner of the FRC- he spelled it "John " and not the correct "JON".
When he said this
Compared to the new Stingray or to either generation of the Z06 Corvette, the FRC isn't particularly quick
He lost me. There's just not that much difference in the LS1 and the LS6 unless you are on a drag strip. And even then it's not like he seems to suggest. Now yes compared to a new stingray or C6 Z06 there is a bunch of difference, but not a C5Z out of the box.
I do agree with his overall assessment that a C5 is a very good value for the power out of the box and it can easily be upgraded. And because of that it will be popular for many years.
As far as sagging doors go?
Mine sag a tad bit. I have found fitment issues big time with C5's. I know most people deny it but I see it all the time on C5's.
