Default New BFG tires

Anyone heard of these new tires? Kind of pricey but they are available in our OEM size and look great. Pretty sticky too with a 200 rating.

where did you get oem sizes from?

there is no 265 40 17

that tire was made to compete against the XS, AD08, re11 etc

Good looking tire !

Too bad no 19" sizes yet....

I'm loving my RE-11's so far , but always like to see what else is out there.

Thanks for the heads up !

I believe mine has brand new Falkens the prior owner put on them last fall and they are really good for the street. I like these new Rivals because they are pretty sticky with a 200 compound. They would even be decent at a drag strip.

What kind of behavior would the car have let's say above 170mph with Falkens in the front and BFG in the rear???

LOL...Considering these cars max out at 171 due to gearing I would say you don't have to worry about that. I would bet you will never drive your car above 150mph, and if you do it better be at a track and you better have a roll cage, helmet, and racing suit on.

either the 255/40-17 for the stock wheels or 275/35-18 if you change to 18" front wheels.

If you must go with another size other than OEM I would default to 275/40/17, not 255/40/17.

I guess you don't know Christian's car. 171 is easily reached in a surprisingly short time.

Fantastic tire. I have been almost every review since they started testing it. I will be running them 295s all around as soon as TireRack stocks them.

275/40 is the way to go for the fronts. I run that now with BFG KDW2s front and rear.

I don't doubt that but it better be on a closed course. That is approaching 800hp NASCAR cup car speeds. People die at those speeds even with all the safety pieces available sometimes.

Default These are R rated

Guys, look at the speed rating on these tires. They are only R rated. That means they are only rated for continuous speeds of 106 mph. They aren't designed for continuous high speed running.

These tires are primarily autocross tires and are intended for street use or low speed track use. You can, use them on a road course, but they aren't designed for real high speed continuous running.

Many thanks Solofast,

I didn't check the speed rating previously, and that is clearing my question...

I will stick to the Michelin Pilot Sport.

They are a W speed rating which is up to 168mph.
