I'll take a shot - - -it appears to be a wonderful car and since you've owned other Corvettes, we assume that you are reasonably well versed in assessing the car, it's condition and it's "needs" (or lack thereof)

Forum members have an uncanny ability to generally over-value our own cars, and under-value others. Your post also infers that you're concerned that you paid more than market and clearly, that can be a very subjective thing.

If it's exactly what you want, local, great shape, doesn't need more than your own 'personalization'- as other noted, it doesn't matter- but putting myself in your shoes and add the emotional factor, I can see paying $13-ish, maybe even a tad more...

If you paid less- great - - if you paid more, you undoubtedly felt that there was a good reason compared to the other cars you looked at.

We've all been there and done that, but if it brings a smile to you face, or you flip on the garage light just to check on it late at night- then yes, you did just fine.

My .02 - - -enjoy!

EDIT- I saw there was a silver 97 w/85k in Naperville- different wheels- for $15k- so maybe the market is a bit higher in your world-

Respectfully,

My thought is that you can never pay too much for something you want badly enough and can afford. Someone will always come along and tell you that you paid too much. No one will ever tell you that you didn't pay enough for it.

LOL,,,,,Thanks guys !!!!

I meant 9+ as to condition,,,, its really that clean. It does have the sport seats with no wear.

And I purposely left the dollar amount out before just to get unbiased opinions.

I have $12,500 in it including switching to the wheels in the pic from the wagon wheels.

The only repair needed was the " seat rock " washers which was a whopping $50 and a couple hours.

Honestly I was scared nobody wanted the " first " C5's being a 97

Thanks again !!!

We are glad we went to a C5 this time,,,,, completely different car from the 94

That appears to be in the neighborhood of market price for what you've described, depending on availability in your market.

Have fun.

Seems like you did ok to me. If you're happy I certainly am.

If I paid a million bucks for a car I wanted is that too much if I have the cash? Not to me.

Well said and my thoughts exactly. I paid on the higher end for my general area but it was EXACTLY what I wanted. So I forked it over.

To the OP, I think you've done well. Only thing to do now is drive and enjoy...... And MOD

At $12500, you certainly did not overpay. Last year when I was searching I saw a 97 with the same milage, great exterior paint, awful, torn up interior, completely dry rotted tires and a $14K price tag. And someone bought it. I thought that was a tad high for a 97 but someone else didn't.
