I've about had it with our weather!!!!!!!!

Me too. It's been 105-110 here everyday - heading to 113 the end of next week. So I just put the top down and turn the AC up.

I'm out and about in Hollywood, CA and I saw a guy standing near the curb in the 80 degree sun with a nice breeze with little or no humidity. It looked strange so I said, Sir, are you ok? He said, I just got off a plane from IL and this weather is like heaven

Thanks guys, so far roughly 10% of Calgary's population has been evacuated from Downtown (about 100,000). Has stopped raining for now, but Thundershowers later today and tomorrow.

The Saddledome is now up to row 14 with water? Stampede in 13 days should be interesting.....

Can't understand buying a veete and needing to check weather forecast before driving. They don't melt in rain,heat,etc.

True, however it's tough to go out and drive through rain when you just detailed the car. I don't ask for much, just equal treatment. If I spent 4 hours detailing, I want at least 4 hours of dry pavement.

Just go to "give up" on this one MSG, I think some people just don't care much about driving a clean Vette or they don't take the time and effort required to do a true detail job.

Nope, it's true and in my opinion this place is a festering crap hole and I will be moving out of here the day I retire.

I know there are people here that love it, and I'm happy for them. I'm just not one of them.

In the midst of a drought here in New Mexico...hard to keep anything green in the backyard. Wish it would rain. Hoping for a monsoon season this year.

Since my toys are weekend drivers, I guess over the years I spend as much time detailing as I do driving. But I enjoy it and it's fun for me.

I average over 40K miles per year on my daily driver so I enjoy the special time I have on the weekends with my Corvette and other toys.

There was a thread earlier about the best way to clean an engine and the best way for me is to never let it get crazy dirty. I wipe it down after every wash and remove the road sand that my Honker sucks up into the engine bay. Works for me, however I understand that it may not be that way for a daily driver Corvette. Rain doesn't hurt these cars and I would rather drive a dirty Vette than look at a clean Vette in the garage.

Your Corvette will not melt in the rain.
Mine has been my daily driver since I sold my Camaro 3 weeks ago. Pop-up thunderstorms are common in the South during the summer. Enjoy your Corvette. It doesn't take that long to wash it.

Actually I think they are too. I found another site that said 85 days a year of rain. Last year Seattle was one day short of a record for days in a row without rain. It was a great summer. My 02 Z06 is my DD here and I do understand your frustration. Living here you MUST learn to deal with it. It does take me a few hours to detail and get ready for a show or cruise in. The wheels take some time along with the stainless under the hood

I agree with the OP that to me it seems like it rains at least a little almost every day here this year.

I like to keep mine clean too, but 25 years ago I got rid of my show car because it was just too much work to keep clean after every drive. I still try to keep my cars clean, but I drive them and I get caught in the rain too. I even had a couple daily driver Corvettes that I drove all year and they saw snow too.

Yesterday we went on a 300 mile drive with my club (9 Corvettes yesterday). It was nice for about 150 miles then we had about 150 miles of rain. I will have to wash it again. Oh well, it was fun.

First never tell anyone the sun shines around here. NEVER!!! Now that was yesterday. I had the C6 out with the top down myself. I competed in the state truck driving championships so no rain was nice. Last year it rained so hard I could not see the mirror through the rain on the right window. All that said we must make sure everyone knows the rain is back today. I will drive them in the rain sometimes. More often the C5 as it's a coupe. They are cars and made for that.

Car is 12 years old and NEVER been in the rain... Something about that is magical to me!

When I bought my Z06 I drove it home from California. I talked with the original owner after I got home. He proudly told me it had never been driven in the rain and nobody had ever sat in the passenger seat. My response was I drove the car in the rain and the passenger seat had already been used. Rain does not hurt the cars and never having been driven in the rain means nothing to me, other than it does not get used much if you live up here.
