C6, Better left alone?
We've all had that moment, Your driving down the freeway and you see a fellow Vette driver, So you give 'em the wave . But odds are if they're in a C6 you wont be getting a wave back. I am ready to just stop waving at the C6 crowd, and only wave to the C5-C1... I feel stupid when I don't get a wave back. C6 owners are just too cool

I wave to everyone. I don't want to be "that jerk in the c5" that doesn't wave. I assume people that don't wave just didn't see me till it was too late. I miss people sometimes till the last second and see them waving then feel dumb. I hope they all don't take it personally.

I remember back in 2005 when I saw a new C6 up close in the parking lot of a school event. When walking by the owner, I commented "Nice C6". He replied, "This is a Corvette." I then replied, "Yes, a C6 Corvette". He replied "No, it's a convertible."

Some of them don't realize you're driving a Corvette.

Your story reminds me of when I bought my C4. Someone ask if it had the LT1 in it, I said no, it has a 350 It actually had the L98.
But I did know it was a C4.

I agree, new Corvette owners don't automatically know all the history, or what older versions look like.
I drove my 62 Vette to a local cruise-in a few years ago (in Chicago area), where the "Car of the week" (in this case Corvettes) were allowed to park inside the "special" parking area. I drove up to the gal & 2 guys at the "gate", and they refused my entry & told me only Corvettes were allowed.............I told them to look at the emblem & lettering right in front of them.
I wave at every Corvette. If they don't wave back, not my fault they either don't know why I was waving, or they simply don't "get it" (or are distracted or blind).

As is always the case in these "corvette wave" threads, you need to understand that not all corvette owners are corvette enthusiasts. Many are, but many are not. They may not know about it all. They also may not see you in time.
I've had several times where people waved at me and I didn't see it until the last second. Maybe they thought the same thing about me? Who knows, but nothing you can do.
Either do it or don't do it, but to worry about who waved back is silly.

I was in Tulsa, Oklahoma visiting a friend a few weekends ago and I was driving to his sisters house to meet him. Her house is out in the middle of no where and I approach a 4-way stop. As I pull up to the stop sign another car does too the opposite side of me. It was a PERFECT 63 split window . We both exchanged waves, my wave a little larger like a kid in a candy store because I saw a split window lol. In other news, ANOTHER thread about the wave?

Does anyone who complains about not getting a wave stop to think that maybe you couldn't see their wave because of the other Vette's tinted windows? Or maybe the other Vette owner couldn't see your wave because of your tinted windows?

Around here the generation seems not to matter. Most wave some don't. Those who don't just may not have seen me. It also seems to not matter if I am driving my C5 or C6. I wave at all Corvettes even in my C6.

If they don't wave, it's their loss. They are the ones failing to keep a long standing tradition alive. Just keep doing your part.
