Default Custom Exhaust Plate Made...

So I was looking for an exhaust plate to add to my car that I liked but couldn't stomach paying $40 - $100 for one so I decided to create my own.

I went to Lowe's and had an 8" x 10" piece of plexi-glass cut to 8" x 5". The piece was less than $5. And cut in half leaves you 2 pieces to mess around with. I then Plasti-Dipped it black and stuck a Billet Aluminum C5 Jake skull in the middle. (The Skull was purchased from a forum member here but I cannot find the specific thread...)

All in all super easy, cheap and IMHO looks pretty good...
It could use another coat of PD but I was feeling impatient the other day

Not the best pictures, I snapped these really fast.

I used 3M Double Sided Tape both to attach it to the car as well as the skull to the piece of plexi-glass.

I need to do this now that I have an exhaust. I wish I could find the jake skulls. Looks like the threads have been removed. If anyone has any/knows where to get some, send me a pm.

Is that license plate frame silver or black? Hard to tell in that lighting. I am looking for something exactly like the stock black snap in frame but looking for one in chrome or silver. I tried one from Eckler's but it was bad.

I have a Steel Plate I bought here awhile back, the same Jake is etched in the surface making it black looking...looks very cool as well.

Nice job!

The frame is black, the light was hitting at an odd angle. I haven't been able to find one just like the factory surround in a polished finish, only the full back plate. I believe Southern ar Parts has them, or Mid America.

I used this technique to make some custom ones of my own. The one I have on the car right now is from a video game called mass effect. (have a few other ideas in the works) It is my only decal/sticker anywhere near the car. I like subtle things, and I figured it already had corvette all over it in enough places. Also the car has been lowered since the pictures were taken.

That was the cheapest easiest way I could think of doing it. Plus the finished product turned out great!

Post a pic when you get him installed!

Here's my competed exhaust plate. Jake is a little big, so I'm trying to decide whether or not to move the plate down a bit...

Either way, I love how it turned out!!!
