That's how I was. It's was early in the day other people were in the parking lot and there was a camera 15 ft away on my car. Usually when I'm in and out of any of my cars like that I don't even think twice.

Totalled! I hope you got an "AGREED UPON Value" or you are only going to get fair market value for it!
Thanks,Matt

Good thing they caught the cretins, though I imagine they left tons of DNA in the car, specially once they hit the tree.
The insurance co will prob try to total it, make sure you fight to get the most $$ you can. I had them once tell me my paint was crap and no leather. I sent pictures and also got credit for lots of mods. They will lie, so be prepared to prove your stuff...

They will do everything in their power to cheat you unless you have an agreed value, in WRITING. They tried to low ball my wife on a damn 04 Camry.
They use some book on the average selling price, not retail price. Well duh, some cars have 200K on them and are sold as a parts car while others are prestine.

They may try to see if you knew the people who stole it and if you were late on payments etc. But in the end they should pay for it.
My nephew just went through this on a F150 that was stolen. he left his keys in it sitting on the street in front of his house.

I would get a MOD to delete this entire post, because if the insurance company reads that the keys were left in the car....... your toast !

Be careful with your insurance due to your keys being left in the car. My friend had his car stolen after leaving his keys in the car and his insurance company fought him on the claim.

Don't listen to these guys. They will know if the people who stole it used a key. I'm guessing the key is still in the ignition.
As I said, my nephew just went through this.
