Well, the insurance offer is in, 26gs for the car and 3gs for my mods. 7gs salvage value. Looks like I will take 29gs and walk away.

Seems so strange not to have a vette in the garage after owning a C4 and then a C5 for 15 yrs.

Still not sure what I am going to do to get another.

Thanks to you guys for your comments and suggestions on my original post. A big thanks to my friend John Page of 21st Cent MC here in Dallas whose words of wisdom were invaluable. So many alternatives to consider!

Best regards,

DK

Bummer, sorry to hear about the Vette.

What's the deal with your insurance? I didn't realize they would pay out for mods. Did you have an agreed value policy or was it a regular insurance carrier? What amount did you have in mods total compared to what they paid out?

I had 10gs in mods, new tires. The gal who hit me had USAA and they have been pretty good to work with. To get consideration for the mods I sent them copies of receipts, pictures of the car and the trophys she won. She was a nine yr old one owner car, she was not transportation, she was my hobby and like a favorite pet.

I really do miss her.

Put a deposit down on a new C6 Z06 and you'll soon be forgeting the bad times and back on the road. There are good deals out there to be had with the new stingray coming out. Good luck

29k should get a nice well kept hardly driven 08-09 coupe or 06-07 vert

c5s are cool and all but if i received a full pay out check on my c5z i'd probably get an ls3 coupe
