Seeing that you are in there I would replace them for sure, They may last for quite a while, But you never know, If the block is out of the car it is easy to do, But if the block is still in the car that is a pain, But can be done.

Replace, if it's that worn at 50,000 it's been neglected for sometime. I would also check the rods and mains.

You MUST replace!!!!!!!! Now here is the question, why? I am concerned, you need to examine the main and rod bearings too. I would, even if it is a PITA.

I may be old but, I can't imagine replacing a cam without replacing the bearings. That's just asking for trouble. If you replaced the crank wouldn't you replace the main and rod bearings? New bearings are essential for the break-in process.
