2002 Z06 tranny noise help
A friend is looking at a 2002 Z06 with 13000 original miles. He said the tranny will make a little noise as you turn off the engine when the car is in nuetral , sounded like a rattle or clatter. Anyone else have this or remember having this issue

OP, it may not be the tranny. I had a noise from under the tunnel area in my car, but it went away as soon as I switched out my x pipe when I installed new headers. I haven't had that noise since. I'd check the x or h pipe, make sure everything is tightened and check for any cracks in the pipe.

Tell him to shut it off in gear with the clutch pedal pushed all the way in, the noise shouldn't be there. I've read on here that it's the throw out bearing and it just does that.

^This. Its the throwout bearing. If you shut off the car without the clutch pushed in these cars make a rattling sound. Its completely normal and nothing to worry about
