Mine is the complete opposite. In 100* heat (160 t-stat) my engine runs hotter at freeway speeds and cools down in stop and go traffic. Highway it gets to 220* and around 200* in traffic.

Your temps are fine... Your buddies however, well not so much! 248 is pushing it... He needs to clean out all of that debris from under/ in between the radiator.., check coolant, water, t stat....

Like JP.... I am running H/C/I, bolt on's.... however, I recently installed the Dewitt's dual core radiator and spal fan set up... Overheating is not an issue for me. GL and welcome to the World of Corvette...

I'm still having trouble understanding how a 160 degree t-stat can limit the upper coolant temps. In my logic, although the 160 stat opens sooner, the engine should still settle in at the normal operating temp of 190-210. Right?

Mine will run consistently between 165-180* on the highway no matter how hot it gets outside. This is A/C on or off. In traffic, and sitting at lights, it'll climb, to 190-195*, and I've seen 208*, but no higher. Ever.

The full flow 40* cooler makes a significant difference, and for anyone running hot, I'd really suggest picking up a 160* and a new water pump from SDPC. https://sdparts.com/details/scoggin-...nter/x19256263

Also, a Dewitt radiator is a GREAT help in dissipating heat. The 4 core, once it gets air across it, will keep temps way down.

Try a 160* if you haven't already.
