Cruising down RT. 95 yesterday and a white 2014 zipped past me. The car is awesome, looks like it's on water. Your not allowed to post . . . Ah, opinions in the C7 column. But, I love the technical wizardry in the C7 Stingray. I mean it is just fantastic, and I'm sure that Callaway and lingerfelter are going to take the new LT1 into supersonic ranges. But I only saw the back of the 2014 white coupe and both close up and from 1000 feet the back end it just, ah what or how can I say it's just not a corvette to me.
I wish I could say something positive about that big black rear defuser, but the damn thing looks like it left the factory without something finished on the backside. The "keystone" shaped back glass looks like it was taken off a MacDonald's drive through. And can't they paint the big black defuser ? or am I just a A&^%h(*& ? I'm sorry to the mods if I overstepped my privileges. I apologizes to anyone I have offended.
I passed a 96 Vette on my way home from Lexington today after a visit with my knee doc. He tried to catch me for a few miles but gave up shortly thereafter. I guess I "zipped" by him in my C5 didn't I? When I got home I met a girl driving a red vert so I waved and she waved back AND smiled. Ain't Vettes marvelous no matter the year?
I absolutely positively have zero issues with the C7. They are magnificent in my eyes. I know a lot of people are hung up on the tail lights. I think they look fine following the lines of the emblem with the upward slant.
I can only dream at this point of owning one. Someday!

I agree, in black the rear defuser looks like it's just another part of the car. In white through, it is massive and looks unfinished. But the car is a $51.000 space shuttle ! The damn thing will run circles around anything else. I'm not hung up on the tail lights, for me, it's just the whole rear end look. To me it seems out of place. I've owned 5 Corvettes and I know the first of a platform is always the one to catch the flak, but I never felt this confused in any or the previous editions.
I love the car and if you don't like the black diffuser you can always have it painted... I'll probably replace it with a carbon diffuser when I buy mine, but to each his own
I have grown to like the overall look,,,but in opposition to the OP,,I am getting put off by all the techno wizardry. They,IMO,are going overboard on all the electronic gizmos like REV MATCHING for crying out loud!! If you cant drive a stick,,,don't buy a stick!! On styling touch that I think the C5 has over the C7 is the exhaust! I much prefer a little gap between the pipe tip pairs. To me the 4 bunched together just does not look right!
Jim, at last Thursday's meeting Doc Bresler gave a new delivered in the afternoon C-7 to his wife. She had no idea at all she even walked by it on the way in. It was so cool to see the look on her face when he handed her the keys. On Friday they washed her C-5 before the new owner came to pick it up. Since she drove the new one in the rain it also had to get another bath....
