So it's pretty obvious that I have modded the snot out of my 98 Coupe. But when I see it I'm torn between being really happy with it yet noticing I need more.
I've done far too much to list,
But want to add,
Redline's red leatherlike door panels
molded in brake vents Like "Evil-Twin"
Forged block for more horsepower
Built TR6060 transmission
better brakes
bigger rotors
and about a dozen more things .........
Guess it never ends and the list just keeps going on.
BUT, What a special and fast car it is!

Yea Rick, you've really ruined it for the rest of us. That bulid thread on the SC install was inspiring and with that almost endless power...You know how corvette owners are more mods!!! it trully is an madness
Thanks guys for the compliments and suffering the addiction right alongside with me. I started customizing bikes(I've had some real beauties) a few years ago but after I became a vette owner they became my obsession and the bikes were sold to make room. I love bikes still but once I had the new generation VMax nothing is even close to it's performance and looks. So now I have to suffer with this C5....LOL!
C5's rock and what a great car to mod an upgrade as time goes on.
I tip my hat to ET for building such a great car, and all my CF members who pave the way and encouraged me to step up and make it my own. Wow...what a great country this is and I feel God's love and blessing everyday when I turn the key!!!!!

Not that weight is an issue since you have the power under the hood, but will you just run a spacer out back? Ever thing about looking into forgestar wheels? They can do custom offsets that will get you close to where you want to be...the weight of them isn't bad either!
Hey man. Do what you enjoy. I've been trying to make a lot of decisions myself. I'm right on the cusp of needing to decide how long term I want to keep the vette or if I want to change to a 911 or c6z or another M3. Two completely different mod paths. (trying to resist vs heavy modding) It is hard to say no to the mod bug though.
Nice. One thing I have loved about the Corvette is some of the OE wheel choices. I had C5Z wheels on my C4 and my little brother just got C6Z wheels for his C6.

Those make for a nice addition.
I find it very odd, but I really like Corvette wheels and think the aftermarket wheels look strange and ugly on a Corvette for the most part. Yes, I know I'm in the minority with that viewpoint. As much as I can't stand "stock", the ZR1 wheels are the one thing I love.
Jan 1st will be my 1 year anniversary for NO MODS this year. I did an oil change and plug and wires as they were needed only!
It was very hard to stop modding, and thankful I did. Now I'm saving up for a C6Z and keeping my C5! Good luck Rick
Man that had to be tough, I remember you saying you were gonna part with your ride, I'm glad to hear you decided against it, I want a new one myself, but can't stomach losing my *** on what I've got now.
Those of us that have went crazy modding understand what I mean
