Set me straight......caliper covers.
Seems to be a consensus around here that caliper covers are right up there with fuzzy dice and curb feelers. But my calipers are rather nasty and faded, and really detract from the polished wheels. Will using this product get me banned from eating lunch with the cool kids?

Get a caliper paint kit from your local parts store along with a couple cans of brake cleaner. Jack the car up/put on jack stands, pull the wheels, mask anything you don't want brake cleaner on and thoroughly clean your calipers. Pull the dirty masking off, mask off all areas you don't want paint on and paint your calipers (and brackets, if you're so inclined). Let dry, pull the masking off, replace the wheels and lower the car. (Btw, you can pull the calipers off the car to paint them if you're really ambitious.)
You now have a beautiful set of calipers, pride in the accomplishment of having painted your calipers yourself (saving mucho bucks in the process) and will not need to have your Man Card punched.
Here are a few shots of mine:

I am not a big fan of the caliper cover look - to me they just look fake. I would recommend painting the stock calipers or do an exchange for a set of powdercoated ones.

- Carefully spread some Vasoline, Chapstick or grease on the surface of the debossed lettering so it wipes clean when the paints dry.
- Simply paint over the letters and then carefully sand the paint off the top of the letters. Use progressively finer sandpaper until it's smooth and then metal polish for a final shine.

OP asked for opinions of fellow members, not sarcasm or to be embarrassed for having asked.
Seems reasonable.
