The base C6 it's a lame looking Vette.

It really depends on which aspects you are using to evaluate the two. From an overall performance perspective I would lean towards a STOCK '05 C6 with Z51 would be slightly better performing than a STOCK C5Z ('02-'04). As far as styling, which is very subjective, well, I'm driving a C5 hardtop/FRC so I'll say C5Z for that. In all honesty, you can't go wrong with either...good luck and keep us posted.

I have 05, and love it, problems only one had with the shifter taken care of years back. The car is quick and lot of fun to drive.

I'd go with the C5 Z over the '05, but if it we're say an '08 C6, then I'd probably go with the C6 and the more powerful motor.

that statement makes no sense..the C5Z out performs the LS2 on the track, is lighter and has slightly wider tires, so I don't understand how you can say the Z51 has an over all performance over the C5Z

I contemplated the same 2 cars 8 years ago and settled on a C5 Z. No regrets, but had I chosen the C6 I probably wouldn't have had any regrets there either. Good luck

I mixed up model years and stats...I was thinking about the LS3 C6 which would be an '08...I stand corrected...the C5Z will out perform the '05 C6 z51 with the LS2. I had a moment.
