[Yes, reverse has a syncronizer. The sync ring can be turned around and reinstalled if damaged.
When this ring is worn, trying to shift into reverse gear will result in a load grinding noise.
You have given us no information on your car besides you have a syncro issue. Mileage, mods (past or planned), and prior maintenance history would all dictate recommendations.
PS: If you end up doing a clutch inspection or replacement, I would recommend you install a remote bleeder for the slave.
Thanks,
Car has Corsa exhaust, K&N air intake, 31000 miles. No other mods.
Have 2014 stingray LT2,Z51 on order #RJTZTW.
Est. Maybe 04/2014.
Maybe selling the 1999 if price is right.
Regards, Lou
I would not plan any other driveline work other than the syncros based on the mileage and those minor changes. You or your mechanic could choose with the tranny out to look inside the torque tube to make sure the couplers look good. You could take the time to pull the bellhousing and install a remote bleeder.
