Default Targa Cars with Subs

So I was just curious if anybody had a Targa car and the molded sub boxes that go in the corners of the hatch area? If so do they interfere with putting the top in the back? Just planning what route i'm gonna go with my Z that i get next weekend. The targa conversion is almost a definite at this point and i like the corner boxes, but if they won't work i'll probably build a box. Let me know.

It took me and a buddy about 40 hours to do and man can I say it is sweet and gets a lot of compliments.

What i want to see is a car that has a sub or subs and still puts the targa in the back.

I have one of the Vette Nuts sub boxes (http://www.vettenuts.net/index.php?l=product_detail&p=299) and it clears the targa no problem. Sounds great, too!

I installed a Rockford/Fosgate 150 watt mono amp and dropped a 10" JL Audio sub in the center compartment and the only other thing I added to the factory system was a pair of JL Audio two way speakers in the rear leaving the door speakers alone and it sounds great! This way I can still put the cover over the compartment when I need to & nobody ever knows its in there. The targa top still fits in the holders just fine. The good thing is easy removal if I sell the vette. At first I didn't think that the combo would have enough "oomph" to suit me but boy was I wrong. It hits as hard as a friend of mine's 500 watt 12" sub in his Trans Am--and cleaner too.

well if you're getting a z then thats a completely different trunk/hatch space. i don't know if the targa top would fit in the trunk or not, as for the picture posted above, you don't really need to have the top in the back for the picture to see if it fits. as long as the subs don't interfere with those small black pieces on the floor for the top to sit in you should be fine, but with the stealth box and the corner mounts i don't know, i have some in the same place like Uhhtaken and the top fits fine

I have had a corner sub box for almost 8 years now with s 2.75" mini-tub (top now stays flat in hatch). No problems storing the top before the mini-tub or to now. The biggest issue is cone placement and magnet clearance on a higher powered woofer.

This isn't the best picture but this is my setup using the center storage area. I can take a better picture later after the sun comes up if you'd like. My targa top clears the 12" sub and amp easily.

I have the Vettenuts corner sub and the top fits fine. My car is also mini tubbed and even with the mini tub the corner sub fits fine.

Our sub boxes will clear the targa in your Z if you do the conversion.

We also have all the parts you will need to do the conversion. You can kill two birds with one stone here with VetteNuts.

Sounds awesome. The middle of the cover is a metal speaker grill covered with fabric so air can still move.

I have all the speakers amped and I mounted the amp so it's hidden underneath the passengers seat. Gets plenty of airflow for cooling down there.
