Twilight Sentenal Mode
I have 2001 conv.I drive it year round weather permitting.Sometimes it sits for 3 weeks.My question is,does Twilight Sentenal mode put any more strain on the battery?

If you park the car in a garage regularly, the Twilight Centinal puts a strain, so to speak, on the plastic headlight gears by raising the headlights when you start it in the garage only to put them back down once you back out into the daylight. Similarly one needless cycle when you drive from daylight into the darker garage. JMHO
I've had mine off for years.

Besides the wear on the headlight motors, for those of us with HID headlights it is also more wear on the ballast and bulbs. It is a feature akin to the automatic headlights on most cars today, but as stated you can live without it as most remember when it is dark enough to require lights.

I also turned off the memory function...seems like a lot of excess movement having the seat and steering wheel adjust automatically every time I got in it. I could feel it put pressure on the back of my seat when it went all the way back. I bet that adds to the rocking seat problem so many seem to suffer from.

That doesn't turn memory off. It simply stops the seat from moving at vehicle entry and exit. The memory function still tracks mirror positions, telescopic column, radio choices, seat position and climate control and adjusts those based on the FOB used to enter the car. If you always use the same FOB or only have one FOB they effectively are not causing any changes. But the memory function is still alive and operating should another FOB be used.

Doesn't really hurt the battery, but will put more wear and tear on the headlight motors and gears. I used to keep my twilight sentinel on all the time but have now turned it off to keep the wear down.

The guy that sold me the car was so into the Twilight Sentry, memory etc. I was just thinking how I was going to shut that crap off.

You can turn off the Twilight Sentry and the Easy Entry/Exit (which will as stated stop the seats from moving back when getting in or out) but not the memory. If you turn off the Easy Entry/Exit the seats and other positions, mirrors, telescoping steering column, will still go to the memory position associated with the FOB you are using when you start the engine.
