Anybody ever heard of a shifter boot like a Lamborghini has?

If not how difficult do you think it would be to make something up?

Thats not a boot thats a gated shifter. I can't imagine that would work in the average car. The shift linkage would have to be perfect and allow for no slop at all. I have driven a car with a gated shifter many years a ago and it is not easy to slam through the gears quickly. Looks super cool though. I would for sure give you a big high five if you made one that would work in a C5

Ferraris have had them forever, as did the DeTomaso Pantera. When we had our Pantera, I had a replacement plate made without the gates, and it did make shifting a whole lot easier.

Pricy but gotta admit thats pretty cool! I have an Automatic car (don't make fun of me) so it's cool they have something for us too… kinda wish they dressed it up a little more like they did for the 6spd. Damn… something else for the wish list.

I kinda like that one that Black 02 posted for the 6 speed. It looks to be pretty good compromise between form and function.

Not sure how the auto shift plate would work visually, especially with the boot cover off.

Every car I've driven that had a shift-gate like that also had a resonance point somewhere in its rev range where the shift lever rattle like a snare drum against the gate.
Not my idea of a desirable feature in a daily driver.
[EDIT: I mean the Lambo/Ferrari style pictured in post #1, not the open-hole version from the link.)
