No gains from expensive plugs and wires.Stock GM wires and AC Delco 41-110 plugs will be fine.

Correct. I prefer coppers over platinums, NGK tr55 plugs to be exact. You have to change them at 30k intervals roughly

41-110s are irridium. copper is a better choice for a high compression, high performance application but require changing more around the 15-20k range. by 30k the gap will have increased

best value wires i've found on the market are the denso 6718056 these things fit exactly like oem, all 8 wires measures within a couple ohms of each other and the booties are made for the factory heat shields. also made by one of the best spark plug manufacturers in the world and the OE plug of most late c5s

My 2001 idles a little rough, hot or cold, and i don't think the plugs or wires have ever been changed (46'800) miles. Do u think plugs and wires would help?? Thanks

13 year old car?

well, i'd take a stab at it being a pretty good idea

you change the fuel filter recently?

lot of general tune up items are just as much age related as they are mileage

You may get lots of opinions on this topic. When I changed the plugs in my '00, I went with AC Delco Iridiums and GMPP red plug wires. Got everything from Gene at gmpartshouse.com and car ran great.

Drivers side.....it's held in place with one screw, and the line connections are the plastic "squeeze clamps" that GM uses on all of it's fuel filters.

Yeah, but they don't sell the GM "red" wires, which seem to be the best bang for the buck. Contact Gene Culley at gmpartshouse.com.

I will also toss my 2 cents in for the GM Performance "red" wires....actually the best on the market. Recommended to me by Joe Huneycutt(celebrity racecar driver) while he tuned my car. He installed a new set to replace my old stock gray ones. The dyno runs were much better.

Here is Joe.... doing what "Hollywood Huneycutt" does. Before the other video showing how well built the roll cage was.

You can but I wouldn't. Go with the GM red wires. Autozone OK for plugs and filters,
