OK, did all the searches, read most of the threads and watched a youtube video on removing C5 sun visors. I have tried on a few occasions to get the darn thing to turn as described and release from the upper windshield frame. The slot that the screw driver fits into has been mangled, but now even when I get the screw driver to hold the arm does not release with a good amount of pressure. I am working on the passenger side, is there any special trick different than the drivers side. Comments appreciated.
Can't remember if the thread reverses from side to side. Replaced both mine a year or 2 ago. I remember using the screwdriver in the slot and turning the visor for the torque needed to move things.
I just replaced both of mine. Passenger side should just rotate outward toward door with driver in slot while pulling down on visor.
Not sure why its not releasing as you say.
