I purchased a used Corsa Pace bc that's what I wanted for half of the original price. I think this system sounds incredible for $375. Period.

Yep. I concur. I've been listening back and forth between sound clips of different C5's with the Borla-S system on, and Not4spd's (before the straight pipe) sounds very similar, and in one case the same, at start up. Borla says that sound clips on the web lose some content clarity due to compression so take that with a grain of salt.

I also found a a video clip where the same type of "quality control issues, one being a tip misalignment" were present on the Borla install. The video also shows the same type of slits in the piping where different sections connect as the Ebay replicas. You can see that here:
https://vimeo.com/23418621

It is also worth noting that Not4spd said that this exhaust did drop in tone once they had some cycles on them. That would make them sound even more like what we are used to hearing from Borla's. All I know is that I like what I hear from Not4spd's car.

I'm looking forward to getting them on my car in a few weeks.

I think the OP has shown that this Extreme-o Cheap-o system is not necessarily wasted money, if that is what your budget will allow. I like the sound of the system. I've seen similar priced systems on Ebay and I am happy you stuck your neck out and posted your decision and results on this forum for the members to benefit from. As with all things in this world, to each his own. When it is time for me to upgrade my exhaust, I will consider this.

I bought one of these 2 years ago and it has been flawless. Not a single issue. I recently went with a chambered exhaust and a catted X in stead
off an off road X but this system still looks and sounds like the day I bought it.

Great thread brough back to life. I am planning the bypass mod, and will definitely be getting the H-Pipe removed after seeing OP's vid. And now I'm off to see what ebay has for cheap exhaust systems!!

I'm not interested in everyone's opinion of American vs Chinese products. I want to know how OP feels about his exhaust, not how everyone else feels about where it was made. Why is it that every new thread on here eventually becomes a patriotic debate?

This thread is still alive after 2 and 1/2 years?
The Ebay exhaust is still on there and looks and sounds as it did the day it was installed. I'm still pleased with it and have no regrets.

After years of back and forth, pros and cons, it time to reveal the secret of life..

I am an old guy and some would say with age comes wisdom. Others might say he is a grumpy old man with more flatulence than any human being should be allowed to emit.

Over my life I have searched for the secret of life.. and I found it a few years ago.. That secret is " to be happy " so no matter what you chose in life, if it makes you happy, then you have found the magic.

Bill aka ET
happiness could be a 350 dollar exhaust system, that makes them happy,. it could be a 2000 dollar exhaust system. But no ones happiness or discourse really has any impact on my life.

Offering opinions and experience only helps someone find happiness. Only when someone makes an educated choice based on research will they feel they have exhausted all means to come to that decision, However Not until they fully experience the system they have chosen will they truly know if they are happy or not.

Its very common here for some to say a certain exhaust systems drones, and documented evidence says this system is know to drone, but the WOT and idle makes them happy and are willing to accept the drone. as a non issue. Others with the same system will defend their choice in spite of the drone, that they don't like. Some are in denial, but these systems [produce the same characteristics and are designed to produce a certain exhaust tone in each of the three ranges.

HAPPINESS..
Bill aka ET

Typical UPS style..... Box says Fragile and it's pretty well beat when it arrives.

Inside shot of the muffler:

I'll have pics of install and a video at a later time.
How does it fit? I bought the high dollar exhaust and I am having trouble wit fit.

Same here for mine!: You really helped me confirm making this purchase Not4Speed. Thanks for sharing and having guts to try something different that most on CF wouldn't recommend. rock:

whether you have an H or an X pipe or not will not make any real difference to anything except sound. IIRC, the last of the Holden based GTO's were sans H pipe as it gave them a bit more rumble, plus more crackling and popping on overrun. Depends what sound you are looking for.

I know you are enjoying yours and are just as happy as I am.

edit as of 7/16- I have gone back and edited/reposted pictures as photobucket changed their terms and does not allow 3rd party hosting.

UPDATE- As of 10/25/2017 Corsa Extremes were installed

My wife was driving the Vette 6 weeks ago, was at a stoplight, 17 year old kid who was texting slammed on his brakes, and slid into the back of the Vette. Wife came out a little sore, but nothing serious.

During impact the Ebay axleback was bent and was non repairable. Just wanted to post an update in case anyone opts to go this route. Just know that the metal(as expected) is thin and will most likely collapse on impact. During repairs Corsa Extremes were installed.

Still rockin my ebay exhaust, all I did was swap out for corsa style tips. Under $300 invested for me. I plan to keep running it with my LS7 swap too.

You're MUCH better off doing a bypass mod on your stock Ti exhaust. It will be cheaper, sound better, and look better. Welcome to the forum!

Mine already had the Borla Stinger when I bought it, but if it still had the Ti OEM's, I would do the bypass cutout. I've heard it in person and I think it's awesome for as little it costs to do the mod.
