Being a reasonably new owner of a Corvette, something on this forum makes my blood boil every time I see it.
For God "s sake, instead of using abbreviations ("din"," tpms" , "sho", "rmv") or what ever else, why can't you just type out what it is you are referring to?
We newer owners have not the slightest idea what the hell you are talking about.
Is it asking to much to type a few extra words instead of us being left in the dark as to what you are posting about?
Rant over.
Is it asking too much for new members to use the search function to educate themselves a little bit instead of asking the forum to hold their hands in every post?
The forum is a excellent source of information for those who want to learn about their car. To get that information requires a small effort to actually learn to use the forum.

I am surprised after 2 years you don't know what they are, It comes with time, You can't expect everyone to not use the common letters when they are used everyday. It makes typing a lot faster, Just give it a little time and if you see something you don't get do a search.

Instead of us typing out those few words over and over again, why don't the new members do a quick search once and save us the trouble while educating themselves?

I may have been on this forum for a couple of years, but only reasonably active since I bought my 2004 in may.
Before that, I was hardly on here.
I joined originally to see if I could find a good Corvette for sale.
If I had to do a search every time I came across something abbreviated, searching would be all I would be doing instead of posting.
Is it going to hurt to give us new owners a break, and type out what you are talking about?
Bob.

That's much more efficient.
If you're reading a thread or post and don't know what certain letters mean, just ask.
If you're reading a thread or post and don't know what certain letters mean, just ask.
Example:
PMS = Pre Menstrual Syndrome
I have asked, and that usually comes back with the spelled out meaning instead of the abbreviation, just as you did with "PMS"
Now if it can be spelled out in response to my question, why can't it be spelled out in an original post, instead of an abbreviation where many, myself included are left to wonder what the abbreviation means.
As I stated above, if I have to do a search for every abbreviation I come across, searching would be all I would be dong.
I think it safe to say, many here type a lot faster than I am capable of doing, so what is wrong with typing a few extra words, if it does away with confusion?
Bob.

So you want everyone else to change for you? So you don't have to do it? I can see where this is going.

In all seriousness just ask, That is what everyone else does myself included if I don't know something, No one else goes on a rant about it. I am guessing you are from California with a user name like Calguy? Why didn't you spell it out so we wouldn't have to guess?
BooYa

I can see your point. But, most on here are familiar with cars and the abbreviations as most cross over to other manufacturers and are not specific to chevrolet or corvette. For example take PCV; if every time it was referred to the user typed out positive crankcase ventilation. we would be spending much more time typing that out vs a few folks who don't know using the search function or google for that matter. The prior will be spending much more time typing than the latter doing a search. We are all here to help and provide knowledge but like everything else in life, we have to be efficient or we may not have time to even get to reading and responding to one of your posts.
