Your in-dash multimedia and smartphone command center
Whether you rock an iPhone® or Android™ smartphone, you want a receiver that gives you the most control. Clarion's NX404 navigation receiver not only delivers accurate guidance and a wealth of entertainment options, but it gives you safe ways to integrate your phone so you and your passengers can stay connected on the go.
It all starts with the gorgeous 6.2" touch display
The NX404's 6.2" screen gives you a great view of the receiver's built-in maps of all 50 states, plus Puerto Rico and Canada. You'll have access to over 11 million points of interest, along with 3D mapping that allows realistic views of terrain, buildings, and landmarks in select metropolitan areas. The display also supports "flick" operation, just like your smartphone. Animated menu icons that can be dragged and dropped give your dash a little personality, while allowing you to prioritize functions and A/V sources.
Highlights:
General features:
DVD/CD receiver with 6.2" touchscreen and AM/FM tuner
fits double-DIN (4" tall) dash openings
internal amp (18 watts RMS CEA-2006/50 watts peak x 4 channels)
built-in Parrot Bluetooth for hands-free calling and audio streaming
built-in iPod, iPhone, and iPad control (see Details tab for model compatibility)
HDMI cable and Apple Lightning Digital AV Adapter required for viewing video content from Lightning devices
Clarion CCA750 cable required for viewing video content from older Apple devices
HDMI compatibility for select Android devices when parked — requires optional HDMI adapter
Pandora control through iPhone and Android
plays lossless FLAC audio files from your flash drive
remote control
Navigation features:
maps of United States, Canada, and Puerto Rico, plus 11 million points of interest
lane guidance and junction view
3D representations of select buildings, landmarks, and terrain
Audio/video features:
plays CDs, DVDs, and USB drives (see Details for full capabilities)
3-band parametric EQ with 4 presets
low- and high-pass filters
bass boost
dual-zone A/V output
Expandability:
inputs: dual rear USB inputs; front 3.5mm input; rear RCA A/V input; rear-view camera input
outputs: 6-channel preamp outputs (2-volt front, rear, subwoofer); video output
I do NOT have a pic of this model installed yet that I can find.
It will look like this Kenwood when installed

Question
Dennis,
Probably a question that will emphasize my lack of knowledge about all things technical, but with this system or a Kenwood or Jensen, etc. where does in mapping information on the GPS originate. Is the GPS based on Garmin or some other major GPS manufacturer or does each head unit manufacturer build and maintain their proprietary GPS database?
Thanks, you always seem to have some great deals going.

A lot of people prob want to know as well so here goes
Kenwood is Garmin
Clarion, JVC, and Pioneer is Navteq
Alpha Nav, Jensen and Alpine is IGO
Of course there is also the option of mhl mirroring that can use whatever is on a smartphone such as an iphone 5 or 6 and Android.
Let me know what else I can help with

Thank you Dennis,
I need to learn at least one new thing each day (hopefully more) and you just added to my knowledge base.
One of these days I will need to upgrade my sounds (and Nav) and you will be my guy.

You can hook up a rear view camera with this, right? Can you rig up a front view camera too, and be able to switch back and forth to either one you want to see? I would rather see the view than hear a beep from one of those ultrasonic proximity units.
And if we send in our bezel to you, how long does it take to get this all back, or do we send our bezel to you in exchange for the modded one you send us?
