Default Sport seats vs. base seats?

I'm looking to buy a C5 to replace the Miata. Most I see for sale and all that I have looked at have had sport seats. I found a car not too far from me that appears to be a vert with no options. I can do without memory/heated seats, HUD, and auto climate control but wonder about the seats.

I know the sport seats look better but is there is big difference other than the looks? Are they the same as the seats in the Z06?

All the same except for the hole in the backrest which qualifies it as a sport seat.

Not much difference at all.

I'm seeing a lot of "no difference", but aren't the base seats missing the inflatable bolster and lumbar support bladders?

I think this is right.

I think the base seats lack 8way power adjust.
I think they also lack "corvette" stitched into the headrest.

I bought my 01 new....I do know passenger side 8 way adjust was an extra cost.

The big feature with the sport seats is the adjustable lumbar support. The frames for both the standard and sport seats are the same. Most sport seats come with dual electric movement controls too.

My base seats have this, both driver and passenger.

To answer one of the OP's questions, yes, these are exactly the same as the Z06 seats except for the Z06 stitching in the headrest.

The sports seats feel more supportive to me. My 03 Z06 did not have the two piece back rest or the lumbar bladders. When I bought new foam and leather covers, I got the sport seat version and had it installed on my standard frames. It made a noticeable improvement, even without the air bladders.

Agree with above. Buy for the car; swap the seats.

I have the sport seats and they don't hold you for **** if you're actually using the car.

I think this is what I was thinking about...

Per the Corvette Museum 2001 specs page:
Option package 1SB included
Custom Adj Sport Bucket Seats (and)
Power Passenger seat $1700

My car is a 2000, but came with the power base driver and passenger seats in the 1SA option package.
