I will be Plasti Dipping my 2001 Z06 in the spring to protect the paint on Track days / HPDE. My paint is still in really great shape after 18 years. the Millennium Yellow is hard to clean after a track day. The clear coat stains real easy and then you have to rub it with a little compound and then polish, taking off oh-so little clear coat. I Hate doing that. The Plasti dip is hard to clean but I don't really care about that. Once its all scuffed up with tar, asphalt and rubber, I'l just put another coat on or pull it off.
Surprisingly, a wrap vs Dip, DYI, materials aren't that different in cost. But 60 hours is a big commitment. I can prep and tape my car for dip in 4 to 5 hours and paint it in the same, maybe 6 hours tops. So it seem the installation favors Dip but Wrap probably lasts twice as long.

I think im wanting to wrap my Z06 in either a satin white or a matte white pearl. Has anyone had there car wrapped? If so about how much and how long should it last? Im thinking $1500-$2k and just last 3-5 years? im just getting rock chips and a few nicks on the car and thought about doing a full wrap instead of a repaint. I think the white with my black wheels and black light accents would look really good. If anyone could photoshop my pic in the colors I listed that would be great!
