C5 vs the Rest of Them

There is no vs. "rest of them" Most of the "rest of them" already realize how difficult it is to stand out next to this C5 so they park elsewhere. Even the new rides look "dated" i.e.... INADEQUATE in most every sense of the word....well maybe except for their WiFi. I do like most of the new rides, but sometimes it's a little fun to play with them. What a few C5 owners forget is.... they own a piece of GM's first major design improvements and "Supercar" models. Make a few updates to it and you have one of the most awesome cars a mere mortal can own.
It'll stand up against any and all comers!

In terms of pure styling, IMO, in addition to the Mazda RX7, the 1963 Jaguar XK-E-type and the mid-90s Toyota Supra can at least compete with the C5, but the C5 trumps them all. When it comes to pure comfort, the C5 is unbeatable, IMO. When it comes to ultra-built-in-reliability, AFAI can determine, probably the Supra beats all.

C5 Versus All The Rest
I love my 03 Z it is paid for runs like a wild ape and I love the car. That being said I too would trade it in a minute for a C-7 I don't care much for the C-6 except for a ZO6. Like I say someone is driving my C-7 as we speak I will wait a few years and pick a nice C-7 with a few miles on it and save a bunch.

Both the Supra's straight 6 and and the C5's V8s are famous for their "modability", so I guess, ultimately, the level of performance will depend almost entirely on how much one is willing to spend.
But to me, in addition to being the most attractive-looking vehicle I've ever seen, the comfort of the C5 coupled with its amazing performance will make it an incredible fair-weather vehicle.
That being said, however, GM should have corrected early on all of the "usual suspect" problems that are talked about so often on this forum. It is a testament to the C5 that owners are not only willing, but eager, to put up with these problems. Hopefully my wife and I will have a vert sitting in our garage this spring. Then I'll have the pleasure of dealing with any problems that arise with a smile on my face.

Here's a pic I snapped after just arriving (with some road grime) at Mid-America's FunFest last Sept. For her age I think my '04 C5 holds up well against most newer cars, but in between these two classic beauties, I'm not so sure.
As they say down here in the south, she's walkin in some mighty tall cotton.

And your car is sexy as hell in its own right. You have put quite a stamp on that ride.

Thanks man. This is my first car too. Bought it in 1997 with 60,000 Kms on it and almost 20 years later its got just under 100,000 Kms all original paint and interior. It's been through a few drivelines ranging from the stock TPI 305 with 5 spd to TPI 350 with t56 then a 383 stroker LT1 with a vortech blower and stage 5 T56 and finally I'm building a 428 stroker LSX with procharger D1SC blower backed by a stage 5 T56 and a custom fabricated sheet metal 12 bolt rear end
