The site says "You last visited: 07-09-2009", at the time I was trying to get smart on LT4 C4's...fast forward half a decade and I finally pick up a Corvette (after selling my 951, buying a one-owner DSM in Italy, bringing it back to the US, selling it, picking up a Cayenne S and then an RX-8 Shinka). I actually bought the vette a year ago, but it was down due to fuel delivery issues and more recently ignition failure, and I have been out of the country. Anyways, I am happy to be back on here and even happier to own a 2004 Z06:
It is pretty much original, had a Blackwing intake already installed when I bought it. When my ignition went out at highway speed the subsequent backfiring caused by the unburned fuel hitting the cats blew them out. So when it get back on the road in the spring it will have high flow cats as well.
I appreciate the re-welcome guys. It has been an interesting first year of ownership, I went with the C5Z over the C6Z and 996 GT3 due to its bulletproof reputation. So the fact that I have had to flatbed it from SC to VA on two different occasions due to fuel pump failure and now ignition failure (wound up being the G107 ground connecter snapping off the back of the head) along with a local flatbed ride to the dealer because the fuel pump fiasco was improperly carried out the first time, has been far from what I expected from Corvette ownership...hopefully that is the extent of the looming issues and things settle down from here on out. It is probably worth noting that it only had 27k miles when I bought it and was/is in showroom condition.
Those license plates, any loving looks from the local PD?
So far so good, I had "JS2FAST" on my 400+rwhp 951 for years and never had any unwarranted issues with the police. I wanted "CHRY PIE" but my wife didn't like the stripper association (although that's exactly how I have always felt about Corvettes) and my kids liked the reference to Lightning Mcqueen from the Cars movie, so that's what I went with.
