Thanx for all of the compliments!

LOL...This is the one that I wanted the most but it could not be bought a few weeks ago when I NEEDED a car so I bought the other one which was my second choice (within my budget)...
Then this one became available...so...
Now I need to sell the coupe badley...

One thing I need to do before the coupe sells is to get them together for some pix...after all, they are the same year and color...kinda like brother and sister LOL Might be a cool pic

I'm sure that no one will remember but when I was last here in the forum I had a C5 vert EXACTLY like this one...(except for year)

It has what I think are polished aluminum wheels (?) but the plastic lug nut caps are a dull grey...is the chrome wore off or are they supposed to be grey...
Seems like I remember mine being chrome plated plastic...???

That is the way the lug caps came from the factory. You can buy chrome ones to replace.

Thanx...
Ya, that's what I just found out researching it...
That explains why my other one had chrome lugs...it was an 04...
Apparently they stopped using the plastic covers after 2000 (I think)

It appears as tho chrome lug nuts aren't much more money than chrome plastic caps...that will be the way to go...

Ooh, a Mag Red convertible - you obviously have very good taste!

The grey plastic lug nut covers were one of the cost tradeoffs to keep the cost of the C5 to a certain price point. They were not attractive. My '99 Mag Red convertible had the Magnesium Sport wheels and the grey caps looked particularly out of place. I ditched them immediately for chromed lug nuts. Big improvement.

A tip: Buy chrome acorn nuts and replace those caps and threaded lug nuts for the caps. They'll fall off, and you can buy the chrome nuts for less than you can buy the caps. Then you'll only have to unscrew the nuts to take them off instead of two items, and they won't scratch and fade.
